The Lottery and Gaming Credit provides property tax relief to homeowners across Wisconsin. To be eligible, homeowners must live in Wisconsinand use the home as their primary residence as of January 1st of the tax year. Many times homeowners receive this credit automatically when they buy a new home.
However, if you are not receiving this credit and would like to apply, eligible homeowners may file a late claim application to the Department of Revenue by October 1st to receive the credit. If you are currently receiving the credit, there is no need to reapply. You can find the credit on your property tax bill or contact your county treasurer to find out if you are currently receiving the credit.
