I have a property tax question. My home is located just east of Prescott. The latest property tax evaluations have arrived. The report states my taxes are being charged higher than fair market. Why would a tax be charged more than something is worth? The ratio is 1.0110. According to this report I am paying taxes for more than the property’s value. When I go to the grocery store I am not charged more tax than the value of the purchase. How can this be?
